  De Pictische kroniek Cronica de Origine Antiquorum Pictorum uit de 10e eeuw meldt dat "Constantinus filius Cinadi" gedurende 16 jaar regeerde. De Kroniek van John of Fordun vermeldt dat "his nephew Constantine, son of his brother Kenneth the Great" in 858 na diens dood de opvolger was van Donald, en gedurende 16 jaar regeerde.
